Global Container Terminals

Building A Unified Wayfinding Experience

As the largest Canadian-owned terminal serving the world’s leading ocean carriers, Global Container Terminals plays a critical role linking Canada’s west coast to international trade at scale. After more than 50 years of expansion, its Vancouver terminal had become operationally complex but fragmented in how it was experienced and navigated. What was needed wasn’t just signage, but clarity, cohesion, and a stronger sense of arrival. A unified, multi-tiered wayfinding program was developed to support navigation across the site, prioritizing safety, accessibility, and legibility from entry through to the most technical zones, resulting in a scalable system that extended across all GCT terminals.
